FREE SUNDAY MORNING walks

These walks are designed to enable folks to explore different parts of the Wolds in the company of other like minded walkers who wish to improve the quality of their lives by enjoying fresh air and the physical exercise of walking.

They are a series of Healthy Walks programme under the theme of 'Explore and Learn about Your Wolds'.

  • All walks are on a Sunday and start at 10.00 am
  • They are free and you don't need to book - just come along on the day and enjoy!
  • Group sizes vary between 6 to 12 people, with a mixture of couples and individuals, male and female. Bring a friend or make a new one!

    • Most walks are no longer than 8 miles so should take a little over 3 hours, which is a good walking pace of 3 miles per hour and will include the opportunity to stop, look and learn.
      • As far as is possible, walks are designed to end at a convenient place to obtain refreshments (pub/café), so those that wish can socialise after the walks.
      • All walks are led by Tony Groom, who in addition to being training volunteer walk leader, has been walking all over England and Wales for over 40 years and has considerable experience of organising and taking parties out into the hills.
      • There is no such thing as ‘bad weather’ only bad clothing. There is a good deal of sense in the statement, so please consider this before you leave home for the walk. What is most important is water to ensure you don’t get dehydrated. If you require advice about these matters do contact Tony (details below)

        • All walks are graded on a 5 point scale with 1 being easiest and
5 hardest, taking into account height gained/lost and state of paths.

Walkers participate in these walks entirely at their own risk. The walk leader or organisation accepts no liability for accident or injury. Walkers are advised to consider their own appropriate insurance.

If you are unsure as to how to find the start location or have transport difficulties, please contact Tony. He can be contacted on 01507 354389 or 07837 963350 or tonyjohngroom@gmail.com
